Meet Our Doctors

C. Melton Doxey, MD, FAAOS

Orthopaedic Surgeon

C. Melton Doxey, MD, FAAOS“My goal as a physician is to deliver expert care with compassion. So I feel that it’s my responsibility to stay current on the latest research and developments in orthopaedic care and the subspecialty of sports medicine. Doing so allows me to practice the best medicine possible based on the most recent proven protocols.

“This desire to care for my patients has driven me to become highly proficient in arthroscopic surgeries for all major joints, including the knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, wrist and hip. That’s something few orthopaedic surgeons in the state or country can claim. I’m a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, an organization that requires an invitation by and sponsorship of fellow physicians. Even so, I may be a bit more conservative than other physicians when it comes to surgery, preferring nonsurgical solutions whenever possible. That’s a hallmark of our practice.

“By applying the knowledge and skills I’ve gained through training and years of experience, I’m able to provide expert care, often for people who have not been able to get the help they deserve. I communicate with my patients, explaining their diagnosis and plan of care in language they can understand. Also I encourage and practice patience, as it can take a while to see the results of physical therapy and orthopaedic care.

“I became a physician to help other people, and I have not been disappointed in that decision. In fact, a career in medicine has proven even more rewarding than I expected. Being a physician lets me work with people and help them live better lives. It’s that simple.”
