Meet Our Doctors
Richard W. Eaton, MD, FAAOS
Orthopaedic Surgeon
“I selected medicine as a profession because I knew that it would let me realize my desire to help other people. I chose to specialize in orthopaedic surgery because it allows me to work with patients of all ages. And it’s extremely rewarding to know that I’m helping people diminish their pain and improve their function.
“I come from a family of physicians, which definitely influenced my career path and the way I practice medicine. Both my father and uncle were surgeons, and I’m very pleased to be able to carry on that tradition and continue in their footsteps. As a child, I often accompanied my father to the hospital and even observed during surgeries. By watching my father as he made the rounds to see his patients, I learned firsthand how important a strong physician-patient relationship is to patients and how it actually impacts care.
“I also learned the importance of active listening and ongoing communication. Indeed, I find it one of the keys to success. The more you communicate and interact with patients, the more you can learn about their conditions and how they affect their lives.”
